Zenith Radio–Phonograph Console with Cobra-Matic Turntable
c. 1952–1955
This working mid-century Zenith radio–phonograph console is a classic example of early 1950s American home entertainment design. Manufactured by the renowned Zenith Radio Corporation, the unit combines an AM/FM radio with an original Cobra-Matic automatic record changer, all housed in a traditional wood console cabinet designed to function as both furniture and sound system.
The radio features Zenith’s iconic crown-and-shield emblem and a clear AM/FM dial. The Cobra-Matic turntable accommodates multiple record speeds (16, 33, 45, and 78 rpm) and was marketed by Zenith as a gentler, more advanced record changer for home use.
The cabinet includes a pull-out turntable shelf and lower storage compartment, with warm wood tones and age-appropriate wear consistent with vintage use. Both the radio and record player are in working condition at time of listing.
A nostalgic and functional mid-century piece, ideal for display, light use, or as a decorative accent in a living room, den, or office.
